The Popular brand started out in 1952 with Popular Nursing Home – a renowned name in Orthopedic services. Since then, the Popular family has grown from strength to strength and diversified into many businesses; pharmaceuticals, fast food chain, banquet, CNFs and retail.
Popular Snowman is the latest offing from the Popular stable. Constructed in 2016, it is a cold chain facility in Patna for storage & distribution of ice-cream, frozen food items, fruits, vegetables, pharmaceutical products for captive use as well as for other clients.
Snowman
Popular Snowman is a part of a warehouse cluster situated at Sandalpur Kallan,Kumhrar,Patna. It is strategically located with railway station at 2 km, main market place 4 Km, national highway 200mts. With multiple connecting roads it is convenient to access easily from any part of Patna. Front road width is 6.7 m clear of all obstructions.
SPECIFICATIONS AND DETAILS
Popular Snowman has 4 main chambers. Three of these are Freezer chambers with a temperature range of -22°C to -25°C and one is a Chiller chamber with a temperature of +2°C to +8°C.
Proper design of the facility allows these chambers to be accessed from a common passage that is maintained at +7°C. All these passages then open into an ante room which is also maintained at +7°C. This specific design is planned to maintain proper product temperatures and avoid any temperature abuse.
The refrigeration system has been sourced from and maintained by Carrier.
Total volumetric capacity of entire cold storage is 72,000 cft whereas storage chamber capacities vary from 6000 cft to 19000 cft.
The cold storage has insulated and manually operated hinged doors supplied by Metaflex. The chambers are equipped with temperature recording and monitoring system that is fed to central office for further usage. The ante room is provided with two dock doors where two vehicles can be docked at any given time.
It also has a dry storage area of 1150 sq ft and an empty storage area for stacking of empty crates, trolleys, etc.
